Rich lived in Alexandria, on Edsall Rd. He had extensive cancer surgery in 2009 and was no longer able to work. It returned this past fall, and he was unable to rally. 

A formal death notice was published on June 4, 2017.

Richard Harry Wilkinson (Age 66)  

Of Alexandria, VA, beloved son of Eleanor Wilkinson, passed away on January 1, 2017 of lung cancer. He is also survived by his daughter, Natalie Wilkinson Daniel of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Jaclyn Daniel; sister, Susan Wilkinson; niece, Sarah Phillips; grandniece, Maren Phillips and a grand-nephew, Griffin Phillips. He was predeceased by his father, Col. Harry Wilkinson, USA (Ret.). Richard was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Funeral service will be held at the Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel, Ft. Myer, VA, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or a charity of your choice.
