Arnold Henry Domke, age 61, of Herron, MI, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family.  Arnie was born July 30, 1949, in Alpena to Bernard and Augusta (Huber) Domke and was a life-long resident of the Alpena area.  He married Linda Atkinson on May 20, 1980.

 Alway a caregiver to the community, he worked with the heart association and the Red Cross.  He was employed by the Alpena City Fire Dept. for 32 yrs., retiring on June 30, 2006, with the rank of Captain.  He taught firefighter classes to the Township volunteer firemen, was the city fire dept. continuing education instructor for many years and a mentor to the new firefighters. 

Surviving are his wife of 30 yrs., Linda; daughter Karie (Jerry) Bleau; 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters, a brother and many nieces & nephews. 

McWilliams Funeral Home is where the family will recieve friends on Wed. with memorial service on Thurs., March 31, 2011.
