Richard D. Wirgau, 65, of Alpena, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at ARMC of an apparent heart attack. 

Richard was born on June 19, 1950 in Alpena to the late Gustav & Margaret (Bellmore) Wirgau.  He married Marcia Szymanski on April 15, 1972 in Rogers City.  He graduated from AHS in 1968 and joined the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and Germany until his honorable discharge on Nov. 12, 1971.  He retired from Stoneport after 30 yrs. in 2003.

He is survived by his wife Marcia; daughters Kimberly (Michael) McCourt, Stacy (Jason) Malenfant and several grandchildren; three sisters, and several nieces & nephews.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery.
