* Prozac, Viagra, or other Enhancement Drugs

In 1981 Bill Gates released MS DOS; Gas was $1.25 a gallon; Ronald Regan was president (and was shot); the first American test-tube baby was born; Sandra Day O'Connor became the first woman Supreme Court Justice; the AIDS virus was identified; we launched our first space shuttle, Columbia; and Prince Charles and Diana Spencer were married.

We were busy watching MTV, which launched in August of 1981, and going to see movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark, On Golden Pond, Nine to Five, Cannonball Run and Chariots of Fire.

Big fads of the time included Pac Man and Cabbage Patch Kids, and we were wearing shoulder pads, headbands, leg warmers, and polo shirts with webbed belts to match.

Come and see how WE'VE all changed! The thirty-year class reunion (yes, 30 years!) of Alton Senior High School class of 1981 will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., at Julia's Banquet Center in East Alton, in East Gate Plaza. A mixer will be held the night before, Friday, September 16, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., at Mac's Time Out Lounge in Alton.
