ANNOUNCEMENTS

Minutes: Class of 1971

Attendance: Pattie Markley Harpster, Denny Page, Sande Harder, Julie Lambert and hubby Jack Jabala, Steve Lawson, Francis Yon, Paula Lucas Singer, and John and Juanita McLucas

Meeting at Al’s Tavern was opened by Sande Harder, at 6:30.  We had no minutes to approve from the last meeting.

Our treasurer was absent,  so we did not have a treasures report.

Old Business…..none

New business: We had a discussion about whether or not to cancel the class picnic because of the low turnout.  We have 28 classmates paid.  A case of chicken holds 62 chicken halves. I felt we should cancel as to not lose any more money.  We can’t get back the rent for the pavilion, so we will eat that but not have to put out any more money.  It was brought to my attention that we should use the pavilion because it was paid for and instead of having the cost of the chicken and the corn for the corn boil;  we would have hamburgers and hot dogs.  Everyone was asked to bring a side dish. The food will be available at 5:30 This was voted on with a 100% in agreement.  We also voted on changing the hours for the picnic from 1:30 to 9:00, to 4:00 to 8:00.  This was also a unanimous vote. The class will have water available, but classmates can bring their own beverage.  Steve Lawson volunteered to cook and Jack Jabala will be the cook’s assistant.

I will put a new message on the class web site about the changes.

We will need a couple bags of charcoal, and coolers with ice for the water.  A motion was moved by Denny Page to close new business and Julie Lambert seconded the motion.

Pattie Markley Harpster will bring table covering and Julie Lambert will bring the plates, plastic ware and napkins.  Condiments will also need to be purchased and pickles also.

The next class meeting will be on September 4, 2014 at Al’s tavern at 6:00, back room.

The motion to adjourn was moved by Paula Lucan Singer and seconded by Francis Yon.

Submitted:   Sande Harder,  Vice President
