Robert L. McCurdy III, 68, of Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert L. McCurdy Jr. and Sarah J. (Ringler) Pike. He married Rosemary Fisher on Aug. 1, 1991 in Winchester, Va.

In addition to his wife, Rosemary, of 30 years, he is survived by five children: Erin McCurdy Shuler of Altoona, Kelly McCurdy of Altoona, Megan McCurdy of Burnsville, Miss., Michael Steffish III of Loretto, and Ian McCurdy and wife, Alicia of Martinsburg; nine grandchildren: Delaney, Sarah, Rylee, Thaddeus, Aerianna, Kal-El, Alexander, Jason, and Cecelia; and three siblings: Leslie McCurdy, Diana Prosser, and David McCurdy.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. McCurdy IV.

Robert attended Penn State University and was a 1972 member of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. He worked as a Regional Operations Manager for Oasis Commissary.

He attended Juniata United Methodist Church. He was involved with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed woodworking.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. Friends will also be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at the funeral home with Pastor Julia Piper officiating. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
