POCATELLO - Gordon Stanger, 66, Pocatello, passed away early Saturday morning, December 24, 2011.

He was born August 4, 1945 to Edward Marion and Mary Ethel Adkins Stanger in American Falls, Idaho. He attended school in American Falls, graduating from American Falls High School in 1963. He attended college, receiving a technical certificate in X-Ray Technology. He married Vicky Ann Reynolds, October 10, 1970. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in England from 1964 to 1966. He was a High Priest in the Cedar 1st Ward of the Pocatello Central Stake. Gordon worked as a Radiologic Technologist for a number of years and later at Simplots, retiring after 25 years. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Gordon enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved American history, LDS Church history and family history. He also enjoyed ham radio (WB7EWN) as a hobby.


Gordon is survived by one son, Russell (Megan) Stanger, St.Louis, Missouri; two daughters, Tara (Allan) Klingler, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Nicky (Kevin) Hemsley, Rigby, Idaho; the following brothers and sisters, Afton Grasmick, Idaho Falls, Elsie Kelly, Bountiful, Utah, Ruth Bitton, Pocatello, Ethel Ellsworth, Las Vegas, Nevada, Lionel Stanger, Meridan Idaho, Ann Jenkins, Tooele, Utah, Iola Kelly, Layton, Utah, Kay Stanger, American Falls, Idaho and Merrill Stanger, Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a grandaughter. He will be so greatly missed by his family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar L.D.S. 1st Ward , 550 West Cedar, Pocatello, with Bishop David Pollard conducting. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 North 15th Ave. and at the Church from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Thursday morning. Following the services, interment will be in the Falls View Cemetery at American Falls at 2:00 P.M.
