died April 1, 2000, at home in Reno, Nev. She was 49.
Services were held April 8 at Walton's Funeral Home in Reno, Nev. The Rev. Robin Abel officiated. Private cremation was by Sierra Crematory in Reno.
Ms. Sammertano was born March 25, 1951, in Longview, Texas. She came to Alaska in 1957, when her parents moved to Anchorage. She attended Chugach Elementary School, Romig Junior High School and West High School. She left Anchorage more than 15 years ago.
Ms. Sammertano worked in various title companies and other financial institutions. Prior to her death, she was employed by a small construction contracting firm in Reno.
Ms. Sammertano was preceded in death by her mother, Marsha E. Beu.
She is survived by her daughter, Farelyn Hatthorn of Sacramento, Calif.; stepdaughter, Wendy Hatthorn of Reno; father and stepmother, Edwin G. Beu Jr. and Dr. Betty J. Boyd-Beu of Anchorage and Wasilla; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary M. and Carla Beu of Palmer, and Edwin G. and Lisa Beu of Anchorage; and nieces, Millissa and Holly Beu of Anchorage.
