According to my mother, Matt passed from a heart condition of some kind. I had heard that he spent a lot of time in Latin america working to help people less fortunate. It sounded like he was truly living life and making the world a better place. Sorry I don't have any more details. Tom, I agree, he will be missed... he brought a lot of energy and joy to the world.
