Another classmate has passed. Since moving back to the Antigo area I was fortunate to renew a friendship with Karen. Karen married one of my husband's best friends so it was easy to speak with and see Karen quite often. Karen was dealing with serious health issues but always seemed to find the humorous side of things. Her robust laugh was contagious.,She will be missed and knowing her earthly battles are now over does give some comfort. Rest in peace Karen.
Karen was a lovely person through out! I was fortunate to have known her from many of my classes while in high school. For some reason we were always seated within talking distance. She always demonstrated a interest in what was happening, what I was doing or where I was going and then there was that smile.
A few years later (1974), I found she was becoming my brothers wife. So I then had the pleasure of seeing her often through frequent visits with my brother.
Karen always showed interest in our classmates and our groups activities. If I asked her about a particular classmate, Karen new their status and location. I don't know how but she was filled in. She had a love for you all!
Karen was a active church member and a true believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We had many "Fireside Chats" throughout her health struggling years. Those struggles persisted for a very long time and eventually took her! One thing alot of people never new, throughout those years. At all hours of the day and night Karen would hum and sing beautiful music. She was living the dream till the end!
