Grady Olson

20 years.....wow. I've been working at Appleton(Papers) for the last 11 years as a Paper Coating Technician Specialist(back in our day, it was known as a mill rat.....for once I think political correctness is OK:).

I'm a single father who has sole custody of a wonderful 9 year old boy who likes to draw, write short stories, read challenging books, play drums like he'll be the next Neal Peart, and get help with his math homework(never was my strong subject.....thanks Anne!!!!!!!)

Living in Appleton currently.....putting the house up on the market in late July and moving out to the Rockies ASAP for skiing, hiking,rafting....hopefully a better, simpler way of life for the both of us.

Moved here from New London our junior year, and on the first day of school I didn't really know what to expect. On that first day, I saw:

A girl quit school because she was pregnant.

People smoking at school(I joined right in)

People 'smoking' at school(once again....well, you know)

A great cross section of people getting along(much more diverse than I was used to)

Jeff Timmerman launching some kid what seemed like 50 feet in the air during 8th hour gym class(apparently there were words exchanged beforehand.)



Last days?

Jody Benyo getting 'bought' at an auction in the auditorium by someone she didn't want to get bought by.

Seeing Jody Eggert cry when the final bell rang....that's when it sank in that we were finally done with high school.....
