Death of Classmates

Larry Allen Roddy (1942 - 2024)

Larry Allen Roddy, age 81, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Asheboro, North Carolina.  Larry was a veteran of the United States Navy and served from 1960-1963.  He then went on to graduate with his Master’s in Business Administration from East Carolina University.  He spent his life’s work serving as a Federal Probation and Parole Officer from 1974 through 1999, retiring from the Eastern District of North Carolina office in Wilson, NC. Larry is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 58 years, Brenda Trogdon Roddy; his children, Jackie Roddy Doub, Stacy Roddy Griffin, Mark Roddy (Alyssa) and Brent Roddy; his grandchildren, Cody Doub (Jamie), Katelyn Doub, Lucy Griffin, Talon Roddy and Jessie Griffin; his precious great grandson, Joseph Wyatt Doub. Olan Gerald Hubbard (1941-2024)

Olan Gerald Hubbard, age 82, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur, surrounded by his family. He graduated from Asheboro High School in 1960. After graduation, he went on to attend trade school at the Nashville Auto and Diesel College and later worked for 25 years as a welder at Asheboro Building Supply. From there he worked at Georgia Pacific and completed his welding career as an instructor at both Randolph Community College and Guilford Technical Community College. Gerald leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn Hubbard, his daughter Holly Coble, son-in-law Jeremy Coble and two grandchildren, Sarah and Sadie Coble, all of Asheboro.
