Gregg Sutphin (10/18/61 - 1/29/15)

Deputy Gregg A. Sutphin 53 of Ashland KY, died Thursday January 29, 2015 at Kings Daughters Medical Center. He was born October 18, 1961 in Ashland KY the son of Nell M. Litteral Sutphin of Ashland KY and the late William O. “Bill” Sutphin. He was a correctional officer at the Boyd County Detention Center, a member of the Ashland FOP Lodge #3 and a diehard UK basketball fan.

In addition to his mother he is also survived by his wife Aimee Keller Sutphin, one son Drew Sutphin and wife Elizabeth of Ashland KY, three sisters; Rhonda Smith and husband Gary of Flatwoods KY, Kimberly Lay of West Virginia and Sharon Nicholson and husband Brian of Lexington KY, one brother David Sutphin and wife Jennifer of Charlotte NC, a grandson Noah and soon to be granddaughter Brooklynn.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Monday February 2, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home by FOP Lodge #3 and Rev. Acey Gibson. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4324 13th St. Ashland KY 41101. It was Gregg’s request that you wear UK colors and attire at his visitation.
