Nance you were my sister in Christ! Jean and I were so excited to think you might be staying with us while you were in Athens for our 50th reunion this year. We will miss you dearly. Oh how I wish I had known the struggles you were going through back when the glider field and my fishing trips across the road intersected. I would have listened more and hugged tighter.  You have set an example of how we should all live...for Christ. To God be the glory! See you in a little while. Jimmy

I did not know Nancy very well but certainly remember her sweet, smiling face. Her love for Christ was evident in her last words and her passion to share the Gospel was so inspirational. I'm sure she is at peace in heaven now.

I too, like Roxanne, remember Nancie's very pleasant smile and her humble disposition. As I look over the 'In Memory' pictures and names, it is only human to feel a sense of extreme loss and a deep sadness. For those of us who turn to God for answers I suppose Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 is certainly worthy of one's attention at a time such as this...

Nancie was so sweet and her health had been declining. She died of natural causes.

Just saw Nancie's note before her passing. Such a sweet & kind person. Wonderful example for all of us.

I posted this on Facebook last year.  If you haven't read this book, please do.  What a sad childhood these girl had....

Athens High School Peeps! I just finished a book, Ripples, written by Ellen Gilliland. She is the youngest of the Gilliland girls who went to school with us. Beth is older than I am, and Nancie is my age. It breaks my heart to read what these girls lived through. I had no idea the depth of their mistreatment. I thought at one time, Nancie was on Facebook, but I can't seem to find her now. Order this book from Amazon and read it. The sad part is how this could have been happening and it was never known. There is a special place in Hell for people like Charles Meagher!

I am so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. After reading her sisters book my heart was so heavy knowing what all she went through and survived. May she rest in eternal peace as she so deserves it.
