Steve Arnold

Steven A. Arnold was born on October 25, 1944.  He was a professor at San Jose State University and long time surveyor and civil engineer in Silicon Valley when he died suddenly on May 26, 2004 at his office in San Jose.  He was 59.

In addition to running a respected civil engineering firm, he loved teaching his chosen profession to aspiring civil engineers at San Jose State University, where he received his BS and MS degrees. Professor Arnold never missed the annual Concrete Canoe Race, and was well known for his enthusiastic support of the SJSU team, often shouting “Paddle harder you animals!” An avid San Francisco Giants fan, he rarely missed a game, a passion he shared with his son Andrew.  Steve founded Steven A. Arnold Civil Engineer in 1979 in San Jose, California which was incorporated on September 17, 1987.  The Company has been headed by Steve's son Andrew Arnold since 2004 and in 2010 the Company name was changed to Arnold Engineering Associates, Inc.
