Don Miner

Donald Neil Miner was born in San Francisco, CA on May 18, 1944 and was a seventh generation San Franciscan. At M-A, he played Frosh-Soph Football and always had a positive attitude and a friendly smile for all who knew him. He was one of the first beach blondies to surf. In 1965 he married Antonia Nobel in San Francisco and had two boys - Paul and James. He was married once again in Chicago.

Don was a software designer. He was in charge of the data processing center for the Chicago School District and wrote the software program for the Fort Worth/Dallas School District. He had designed a new operating system and was set to demonstrate it to 3M at the time of his death.

Don lived where he worked and eventually ended up back in the Bay Area and living in Mountain View. He attended our 30th Reunion on August 8, 1992. Don died in Santa Clara County on August 24, 1993 at the VA hospital. Don served in the U.S. Army as a SP5 Specialist in Vietnam and is buried in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Merced County, CA.
