Brothers of the Class of 1993:

I am reaching out to you as President of our Senior Class, as Class of 1993 reunion
chair and as a brother in the 21st-century struggle. As the New Year begins and we
embark on 2017, I want to remind you that July 1, 2017, officially begins our 25th
reunion year. Much has changed in the 25 years since we graduated- the addition of
wives, kids, careers, and mortgages, just to name a few. I have a wife and three sons
and we live in Atlanta.

Did I mention 2017 represented 150 years of history? How do we ensure and shape
the next 150 years?

Through alumni meetings (formal and informal), homecomings, reunions, and
Candle in the Dark weekends, I have had the opportunity to speak with many
brothers from our class about their hopes and dreams for the College. We are
unified in the belief that Morehouse College is a unique place that develops Men of
Leadership and more importantly that its tradition of developing leaders must be
protected and advanced. Especially in these trying and confusing times, there is a
premium on African American male leadership. This is true in all sectors and strata
of our society.

With that as a cursory backdrop, I submit to you that this is our 25th reunion year.
Better put our Silver reunion represents a unique opportunity for our class to
impact the future of Morehouse. As one of the largest graduating classes of over 500
graduates, we can set the tone for all alumni of Morehouse. I hear my brothers
asking how? How can I or how can we make a difference? The answer is at once
both simple and difficult. Find a way to get one of the largest classes ever to participate at a rate unseen by the college. Participation=Impact. Our goal is to set a course where Morehouse can count on $365,000 a year from the class of 1993. This could be achieved by everyone in the class giving about $61 per month. Brothers, I am an optimist, but I am also a realist and recognize we may never achieve 100% participation. What I believe in my Maroon Tiger heart is infinitely achievable is for 60% of our class (300 brothers) averaging $100/month. Be clear, that $100 per month is an average for 300 brothers. There will be (and we need) brothers who
can and will do more and many will do less but 300 brothers participating at any
level will set participation records.

Again, the strategy is simple in concept but will be trying to implement. In the
coming weeks, we will get organized on this effort- recruiting brothers to help lead
the effort. We will need brothers to help drive the effort on a local/ regional basis
and to help manage key areas like social media, etc.

Our goal is to have many brothers formally commit today to a monthly plan. You can
enroll at morehouse.getyams.com. Enter 1993 in the group search.

Further details on ways to get involved and participation levels for the Count Me In
Campaign will be coming soon.
