Lawrence Kayn - Class Of 1973

AUBURN < Lawrence A. Kayn, 54, of 104 Hamilton Ave., Auburn, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at his home. Larry was born in Auburn, the youngest son of Dorothy and Nicholas Kayn. He graduated from Auburn High school and studied Illustration and Design at Art Center in California. He followed his passion for art and started his own graphic design business, which he operated for over 25 years < Kayn Design. His beautiful art work and creative designs touched people"s lives in so many ways. On Aug. 20, 1988, Larry married Brenda Maxwell. They made their home in Auburn, where they raised three incredible sons. Larry was so proud of his boys; always coaching them #< in baseball and in life. He is a life long sponsor of Auburn Little League baseball. The logo for Auburn Doubleday#"s was one of his many creative contributions. Larry is survived by his wife, Brenda; his three sons, Nathan, Samuel, and Jacob; his mother, Dorothy Kayn, of Syracuse; his brother, Thomas Kayn, of Arizona; and his niece and nephew, Kathy and Chris Kayn, of Florida. He was predeceased by his brother, Dennis and his father, Nicholas. Family and friends are invited to join us at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, for a Memorial Service at Sacred Heart Church in Owasco. There will be a gathering immediately following the service at the church to honor Larry. Additionally there will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph"s Cemetery. Arrangements are made by White Chapel Funeral Home of Auburn. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Larry"s name to Hospice of the Finger Lakes. A very special #"thank you"# to Larry"s Hospice nurse, Norma, for her compassionate care, and to all his nurses; each one like an angel, assisting him in his time of need.
