Bill Tonzi - Class Of 1979

Bill Tonzi - THROOP < William C. Tonzi, 45, of Beech Tree Road, Throop, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at University Hospital in Syracuse. Bill was born in Auburn on Sept. 3, 1961. He was a member of the class of 1979 at Auburn High School, and a communicant of Holy Family Church. He had previously been employed with the City of Auburn Water Department, with the town of Fleming and village of Cayuga, where he had served as water superintendent. He was a member of the Throop Town Board. Bill was very gifted with his hands, he could build and repair anything. He also enjoyed doing plumbing, electrical and carpentry work. He was an avid gardener and loved his two pet labs, Toby and Maggie. Bill is survived by his loving family, his wife of 19 years, Ann Torous Tonzi; his children, Jeffrey, Katie and Briana; his parents William J. and Irene Sedor Tonzi; his sisters, Peggy (Fred) Kruger, Susan (Byron) Dungey, all of Auburn, and Terri Reynolds, of Skaneateles; his brother, Michael (Becky) Tonzi, of Auburn; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his in-laws, Maria and Ivan Torous of Auburn. Family prayer services will be at 10:15 a.m. Monday, in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family 3 to 6 p.m. today at White Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bill may be made to the family, where a trust for his children is being established.
