He was an enthusiastic fan of the Clemson Tigers and a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. He cherished his time he spent with his family and friends and he will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Donna Guter May; his three children, David, Ryan and Megan May, all of Auburn; a brother, Michael May and his wife, Lynn, of Auburn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Felicia Guter, Bill and Yvonne Guter and Beth Weed; nieces and nephews, Michael May Jr. and Lindsay May, Matt and Chris Guter, Lauren and Jacob Weed, Andy and Adam Orasi, and by his mother-in-law, Kay "Gibby" Guter. In addition to his parents, Kris was predeceased by his father-in-law, Robert Guter.

Friends are invited to visit the family from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at Sacred Heart Church, 90 Melrose Road, Auburn. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Church, East Genesee Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

The omission of flowers is requested by the family as it was Kris' wish to have contributions made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 5005 Campuswood Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or to the Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Jeff Kirshner and to the entire hematology/oncology team for all the great care given to Kris.
