While I moved the summer before starting our junior year, I appreciate being included in the Ayden-Grifton class of 79 reunion.

Living in Grifton and attending AG was really a wonderful part of growing up. Even after 30 plus years, I still get mad with my parents when I think about us moving. The lost opportunities, fun, and the good times I could have experienced with many of you......... Oh well.

When we started our freshmen year, only 4 or 5 years had passed since some idiot blew up the auditorium (remember?). With that on our minds, coupled the fictitious criminal accounts/experiences our bus driver provided us before we arrived, I remember how afraid we were the first day we got off the bus. The bus driver warned us that if we got too close to some of the folks from Ayden we could expect to get stabbed. A group of 14-15 year old boys from Grifton walked in like we owned the world but in reality we were all terrified.
