Paula Bondy was an extraordinary human being. Words can't do her justice but I will try. She was the life of the party, the spark in the room and the uniter of people. She made friends with everyone she met, no prejudices, no preconceived notions, just an open, honest friend. She loved people, life, dancing, nature, laughing especially giggling, biking and especially her family- Eric her husband and Jake her son. She was diagnosed with cancer at a very young age. Like everything she did, she fought bravely, with a sense of humor and a fierce determination to beat the odds. She prayed that she would live to see her son become a Bar Mitzvah. She did but the experimental drug she was taking did not work much longer. Even during her final days, she was funny and tried to make the rest of us feel "less sad".
Carl and I think and talk of Paula often and each time we recall a funny story of something she did or said. We will never forget her, she lives in our hearts and she is a part of us. If you were lucky enough to be in her inner circle, she had a name for you. Many of us still use those names -it helps to keep her alive. We know Paula is with us and would love this reunion- especially seeing Speedy. So on September 24 we will remember Paula, fondly and with loving memories.
Couldn't say it any better...Barb, you summed Ms Peola (AKA Pish, and many other names--just ask Joni) up perfectly.
I am bringing as much memorabilia and as many photographs as I can gather...and we will regale each other with Paula stories. She is sorely missed and thought of daily!
