Welcome to the Redemptorist High School Class Of 1991 web site!

Dear RHS Class of 1991 and guests,

On behalf of my fellow reunion committee members, Misty, Nicole, Melanie, Andrea, and Lori, we have been working hard to get our 30-year class reunion together.  For those of us that can’t make it to the reunion, you will be missed.  For those that are able to attend, we are looking forward to having a wonderful gathering and seeing everyone.

My wife, Janelle, and I are also looking forward to hosting the party on Saturday evening.  We want everyone to have a great time catching up and enjoying each other’s company.  For some of us, we have lots of catching up since we have not seen each other in 30 years, so this should be fun.

Based on the questions I’ve gotten from my wife, I’m sure some of you have questions regarding the details of the weekend.  I will try my best to answer as many as possible below.

Payment:

We have asked for a $25 per person payment for the weekend to help offset some of the costs of the reunion.  If you have already paid, thank you.  If you have not, please get with Melanie as soon as possible as we have already incurred these expenses based on everyone’s RSVPs. Attire:

This may be the most difficult question, but I will tell you that this is not a formal gathering.  The most important thing is please be comfortable.  Wear whatever you would like.

On Friday, I will be wearing either slacks or jeans with a polo shirt.  For the ladies, I have heard several summer appropriate outfits – shorts, dresses and jeans.  Again, it is not a formal gathering, so dress comfortably as some of the event seating is outside.

On Saturday, I will be wearing shorts.  I will suggest something cool as well.  For the ladies, I’ve heard talk of dance costumes and school uniforms although we will see if that happens!  I know that some are bringing their swimming attire for later in the night.

I have about 3000 square feet of covered patio space that will have fans and cooling units.  There is indoor space for those needing a little bit more relief from the heat.

Parking for Saturday:

With 30+ days of rain this summer, my property is not nearly as hard as it normally is in August. There will be plenty of space to park down the left side of my driveway and out near Lovett Rd.  I will have the safe parking areas roped off and two of my students giving directions.  I will be leaving some space near my house for the caterer and others to pull up and turn around.  If you need to pull up to drop off someone, please just tell one of the students.

What to bring:

For Friday, you only need to bring yourself and your guest.  Leola’s will have some appetizer type food out.  There will also be a cash bar to accommodate those that need a beverage.

For Saturday, my family is providing the food, so please bring an appetite.  The caterer is supposed to have a wide selection of food – chicken, beef, pork, and maybe fried fish along with side items and desserts.  There will be an adult there to bartend.  I will have water, soft drinks, wine and beer available.  If you have something that you like, please bring it just in case I don’t have it.  If you want to bring a small ice chest, please feel free to do so.

Hotel:

We did not arrange for a block of rooms for the weekend, and there does not appear to be a set place where most are staying.  If you are coming in from out of town, downtown Baton Rouge has many new, nice places.  We have used Crown Plaza off the Interstate and College Dr. for events in the past as well.

Entertainment:

Friday – Leola’s is providing a musician to play

Saturday – Lori has arranged a DJ for the evening.  The pond (bring your fishing pole) and pool (suits required) are open as well.

Space:

With everything going on in our world, we tried to pick places that allowed us to space ourselves as needed.  On Friday, our group has Leola’s for the evening.  There will be some space inside which is air conditioned along with a nice courtyard for those that would like to sit outside and enjoy the musician while visiting.  On Saturday, my house sits on 15 acres, so you can find plenty of room.

Friday, August 6th:       5pm to 7:30ish (8:00)

Leola’s Café

1857 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA 70802

Leola’s owned by a RHS alum and they have invited us to host one of the events there.  For those familiar to the area, it is located within the CIRCA 1857 complex.  Leola’s will have a musician at the event to plan some background music.

Saturday, August 7th:  5pm to 9ish pm

Robert and Janelle Woosley’s home

11400 Lovett Rd., Baton Rouge, LA 70818

Profile Updates:

Lastly, my hope is that we will be able to get together more often than every 10 years. With that in mind, please keep your profile updated on this website. This is the easiest and most accurate way for us to stay in touch about future events.

If you would like to be removed from any future contact, you can email myself or one of the other committee members and ask to be removed from our roster.

Looking forward to seeing all of you!
