George and I are (were) first cousins. When he first got the bad news he had brain cancer they gave him three months to live and he lasted over a year. He had tremendous courage the entire time.
I called his sister Taffy (Stephanie) yesterday and asked her to e-mail me a few photos of George along with his wife and son to celebrate his life rather than remember only his death.
George and I were best friends for well over 30 years and I still can't believe he is gone. I spent quite a lot of time with George during that last 13 months after he was diagnosed.He had the same brain cancer that Senator Ted Kennedy has now. I would just like everyone to know he handled it extremely well, with courage and concern for those around him. When he passed he was surrounded by many family and friends and did not go alone.His son's name is Andrew and looks a lot like him. His wife's name is Charlyn and she was absolutely tremendous in her care of George in his time of need. Its different when your friends die. You expect your parents and older family members to go before you, but your friends are an entirely different story.I miss him.
