Carl was a very gentle and kind person. His drowning was tragic. When I returned home with my family after vacation I heard about it when my parents and I went to a movie together. The 1st and last time we ever did that. I thought the lady at the counter was mistaken when she told me after I asked if Carl was working. I was shocked and could not keep my mind on the movie. Carl's best friend actually went AWOL to be able to come to the funeral. Just so you know, Carl was not the wild man type. He was always calm and polite and had time for a friend
