Michael Scott Rizzi* - Class Of 1979

Michael Scott Rizzi*

Michael Scott Rizzi, age 47, of Beckley, W.Va., left this earth to be in the awaiting arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, May 8, 2009. Born August 28, 1961, in Beckley, W.Va., he was the son of Victor and Doris Ellison Rizzi. Michael leaves behind his soul-mate, best friend, and wife, Katie Rizzi, along with four children, Alexandria, Jon, Nicholas, and Isabella Rizzi. Michael had a sister, Victoria Rizzi Greene of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother, Stephen Rizzi and wife, Georgiene “G.G.” Rizzi, of Beckley, W.Va.; his father and mother-in-law, James and Juanita Greuber of Beckley, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews, Rodney Bratcher, Andrew Rizzi, Zachary Rizzi, Mandi, Brian, and Lilly Ingram, and Jamie, Andrew, and Layton Ridge. Michael had numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was a self-employed building contractor operating MSR Construction. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He was a member of the Weirwood Community Church. Michael was an organ donor and had always been known to be a generous, wonderful, caring individual. Mike had been one who would help anyone in need when he heard of anyone having a difficult time whether financially or with life in general. Michael would give the shirt off of his back to help one in need. Even in death he gave what he could to help others with organ donations. We pray others would be inspired to do so if and when their time to meet Jesus arises. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, W.Va., with Pastor Tom Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, W.Va. Friends and family may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday to attend the wake. Online condolences may be sent to our guest book at www.roseandquesenberry.net. Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley. [WWHS Class of 1979]
