SOUTH CHARLESTON — Marcella Ann “Marcie” Wise, 55, of South Charleston, formerly of Beckley, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. Born Oct. 17, 1952, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Rev. Mr. Don and Mary Ann Pachuta Wise of Beckley. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Elizabeth Pachuta and George and Anna Wise. Marcie was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She was a former L.P.N. instructor for the Raleigh County Board of Education and Head Pediatric Nurse at Duke University. Marcie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish in South Charleston and the St. Mary’s School of Nursing Alumni Association. She had been a resident of South Charleston for the past 11 years. Besides her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Sandy Rush and her husband Les of Henderson, Nev., and Theresa O’Leary and her husband Tony of South Charleston, W.Va.; and a brother, Don Wise and his wife Tina of Ronceverte, W.Va. The joys of her life were her nieces and nephews, Donnie, Stephen, Gabe, Samantha, Lachelle, Alexis, and Desi Wise, and Patrick, David, and Colleen O’Leary. A funeral liturgy will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, with Father Jeremiah McSweeney as the celebrant. A rite of committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Calfee Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. led by Rev. Mr. John Ziolkowski. Pallbearers will be Stephen and Gabe Wise, Johnny, Joey, and Walter Peplowski, Johnny, Stephen, and William Franko, Robert Kiss, and Larry Balding.
