Lori Vecellio* (Honaker)

Lori J. Vecellio Honaker, 44, of 503 Maxwell Hill Road, Beckley, died Friday, December 24, 2004 in a local hospital after a two year battle with brain cancer. Born October 12, 1960 in Beckley, she was the daughter of Oscar and Lois Lickliter Vecellio, Jr. of Beckley. Lori was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and West Virginia University. She was formerly employed by WTNJ Radio for 16 years and later by the U.S. Postal Service at Mt. Hope and Charleston. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Beckley, was a member of the Business and Professional Club and the Mt. Hope Lions Club. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Raleigh County Humane Society and was involved in many other community activities. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Josephine and Oscar Vecellio, Mr. and Mrs. J.I. Hungate and Lois Johnson; and also by an aunt, Lillian Massinople. Lori was a lifelong resident of Beckley. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Dale Honaker of Beckley; her sister, Lee Ann Vecellio of Charleston; aunts, Lena Nekoranec of Florida, Adeline Wuslich of Arizona, and Betty Britton of Beckley; mother and father-in-law, Alan and Linda Honaker of Beckley; two sisters-in-law, Gail Bailey of Arnett and Rhonda Gunoe of Bolt; many nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, Beckley with Rev. Samuel Sacus as celebrant. Rite of committal will follow in the Vecellio Family Room at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum Chapel of Peace (#2). Friends may call at the Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley from 6 until 8 p.m. today where a vigil prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. led by Rev. Mr. Don Wise. Pallbearers will be Fred Persinger, Walter Peplowski, Jimmy Bonham, Jimmy Lucas, Jimmy Workman and Ben Boyce. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mount Ho8pe Lions Club, Grant Lilly and John Peplowski. Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley.
