Steven Eric Tackett* - Class Of 1980

CONWAY, S.C. - Stephen Eric Tackett, 38, formerly of Beckley, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, following a long illness. Born May 21, 1962, in Beckley, he was the son of Bonnie Sadler Crawford of Beckley and the beloved maternal grandson of Winnie Sadler. Mr. Tackett was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Beckley College with a business degree, and was a disabled telemarketer. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lawrence Sadler. Survivors include two sisters, Stephanie Bailey and her husband, Randy, of Prosperity and their children, Jason and Joey, and Monica Albonetti and her husband, Jack, of LaPorte, Texas, and their children, Shelby and Cody; three brothers, Mark Tackett of Winchester, Va., and daughter Lacy, Matthew Tackett of Winchester, Va., and James Crawford of Cool Ridge. Other survivors include aunts, Linda Dickens and her husband, Robert, Barbara Brady and her husband, Larry; uncles, Jimbo Sadler, Sam Sadler and his wife, Julie, Randy Sadler and his wife, Thelma and Michael Sadler and his wife, Christine; and a host of cousins and friends. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Samuel Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Joey Bailey, Sam Sadler, Mike Sadler, Brian Dickens, Gary Williams and Matthew Bailey will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
