Steve Ross*

Steve D. Ross, 44, of Beckley, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, following a long illness. Born Dec. 20, 1958, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Lonzo Munsy and Glenna E. Biggers Ross. Steve was a member of Central Baptist Church of Beckley and was a 1977 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He attended Marshall University and was a graduate of the Raleigh County Vocational School in Beckley with an electronic technology degree. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and helped to implement the Government Summer Youth Program in Raleigh County. Steve was an electronics technician and the former owner of Jimmy's TV and Repair Shop of Hinton. Steve became an advocate for dialysis patients in Raleigh County during the course of his illness. Steve was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest "Bookie" Ross, on Dec. 22, 1992. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Drema Kellum and husband, Seth, of Columbus, Ohio, Ms. Faith Boker of Beckley and Ms. Mathel G. Ross of Ritchie, Md.; three brothers, Marvin Ross of Beckley, Wayne Ross and wife, Jackie, of Orlando, Fla., and Lonzo Ross of Beckley; his former wife, Denise, of Beckley; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Friends may call 11 a.m. until noon Saturday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor, Hinton, with the visitation concluding with a special song and a prayer by the Rev. Fred T Simms.
