VIENNA -- Joyce Ann Pennington Sassi, 44, formerly of Crab Orchard, died of a heart attack on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2004. Born March 4, 1960, at Morgantown, she was the daughter of Mary Pennington of Midway and the late Lester Pennington. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Leon Lewis Jr.; maternal grandparents, Howard and Sylvia Plum of Morgantown, and Robert and Florence Lewis of Bruceton Mills. Joyce was a 1978 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church at Crab Orchard. She was a paralegal secretary and homemaker. Other survivors besides her mother include two daughters, Dawna Sassi of Vienna and Kyra Sassi of Parkersburg, and was expecting her first grandchild. She had three sisters, Debbie Taylor and husband, Terry, of Midway, Becky Moye and husband, Ricky, of Crab Orchard and Linda Pennington of Clearwater, Fla.; and two nieces, Michelle and Julie Taylor of Midway. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before service Friday at the funeral home.
