Scott Hedrick McCulloch*

Scott Hedrick McCulloch, 48, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, following a short illness. Born March 3, 1959, in Beckley, he was a son of Carolyn Hedrick McCulloch and the late John Howard McCulloch Jr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Chapman McCulloch. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Cox McCulloch; children, Ian Lambourne McCulloch and Olivia Shattuck McCulloch, both at home; stepdaughter, Kristen Noel McCulloch of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, John Howard McCulloch III and his wife, Jane Gorman, of Boulder, Colo.; nephew, Samuel Scott McCulloch of Jacksonville, N.C.; niece, Madison Kate McCulloch, and stepniece, Jordan Rachael Gorman, both of Boulder; paternal aunt, Polly Jo McCulloch Masters of Ancramdale, N.Y.; cousins, Joellen Masters of Boston, Mass., Catherine Masters of Deer Isle, Maine, and John Masters of Ancramdale; many cousins of the Teiche and Smith families, in-laws, nieces and nephews of his wife. Scott was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and held Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from West Virginia University. He practiced law for the last 21 years, most recently as a partner in Bibb & McCulloch, PLLC. His professional affiliations included membership in the American Bar Association, and the bar associations of the states of West Virginia, Texas and North Carolina. Memorial service to celebrate Scott’s life will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Beckley, with the Rev. Eric Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service at the church. Memorial gifts to the Beckley Area Foundation John Howard McCulloch fund or the charity of one’s choice are requested in lieu of flowers.
