Patricia Ann McCommas* - Class Of 1975

Patricia Ann McCommas departed this life from Penderly Memorial Hospital on Nov. 29, 2007, in Burgaw, N.C., after an extended illness. Her surviving relatives in Burgaw, N.C., are her husband, John; a son, Na-than Stev-ens; and her mother-in-law, Elma, the three of whom provided her care. She is also survived by her son, Jonathan Pyles, stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky.; her mother, Mary Alice Fielder Simmons of Bradley; her granddaughter, Skylar Ann Pyles; her sister, Mary Beth Paletta and husband Anthony of Bridgeport; her brothers, William H. Simmons Jr. of Bradley and David C. Simmons and wife Sandra of Soak Creek; her niece, Mary Virginia Paletta of Bridgeport; a nephew, A.J. Paletta Jr. of Bridgeport; her aunt, Karen Kruchek of Beckley; and her great-aunt, Dorothy Ayers of Endicott, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her father, William H. Simmons Sr., in 1997. Patricia was a 1975 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, a member of Winolia Chapter No. 59 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Mount Hope. She graduated with a nursing degree from West Virginia University in 1980. She grew up in the Bradley Presbyterian Church and while living in Burgaw, N.C., was a member of the Burgaw Baptist Church. There will be a memorial service at Bradley Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at 2 p.m. with Commissioned Lay Pastor Elizabeth Stone officiating.
