Johnny (Java) Brash* - Class Of 1978

John A. Brash, 51, of Beckley passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born April 19, 1959, in Oak Hill, son of the late James K. and Delores "Winkie" Brash. He attended Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and was an avid WVU fan; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. John was loved by all who knew him and he enjoyed helping all of his neighbors and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his only brother, James K. Brash, Jr., of Mt. Hope, two sisters, Sharon Ransom and her husband Steve of Beckley, and Marna Edwards and her husband Mike of Edmond, OK, one nephew, Eric Edwards of Edmond, OK, two aunts and uncles Dorsey and Barbara Rinehart of Portsmouth, OH, and Dexter and Nancy Fowler of Bedford, PA, along with a host of extended family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to John's dear friends Bill Roop, Tom Coker and Rod Baber. Also a special thank you to Dr. El-Harake and the BARH staff on the 3rd floor and ICU. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with Pastor Ken Killen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. His friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the funeral home.
