PROSPERITY - David L. Ballard, 38, of Prosperity died July 24, 1997, in Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, after an apparent heart attack. He was owner and operator of Mount Hope Quick Stop, a lifelong resident of the Beckley area, and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Surviving: son, Anthony Ballard, stationed in Italy with the Air Force; daughters, Abby Ballard and Olivia Ballard, both of Bradley; brother, Daryl F. Ballard of Huntington; maternal grandmother, Mildred Burgess of Beckley. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Memorial Mausoleum, Prosperity, with Elder Kenna Lilly officiating.
