Yyonne Cooper* (Raymond) - Class Of 1980

Yvonne R. Cooper Raymond (1961-2006) Yvonne Cooper Raymond, 44, passed away peacefully Monday, September 4, 2006, at her home. She was born November 26, 1961, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Constance Maxine Cooper and Dr. Harry Fred Cooper (deceased). She grew up in Beckley where she was graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1980. From there Yvonne earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Clemson in 1985. Yvonne worked for 18 months in the telemetry and neo- natal units at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV, and 18 months in the neo-natal unit at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, before moving to Salt Lake City. She worked in the neo-natal unit at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake and while employed there she earned her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Utah as a Neonatal Nurse-Practioner. She also was employed by University Hospital's NICU. Yvonne married Richard S. Raymond on July, 21, 1990, in Beckley, WV. They made their home in Fruit Heights, Utah, where both children Madeline Cooper and Casey Robert were born. Step daughters Leah and Amy Raymond spent many holidays and vacations with Yvonne and Rick. Yvonne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a visiting teacher and the homemaking teacher. She loved spending time with her family and friends, cross-stitching, reading and working with babies. Yvonne is survived by her husband Rick, her daughter Madeline, her son Casey and step daughters Amy Raymond and Leah Raymond Patrucci and Duchess, the dog. She is also survived by her mother Connie Cooper, Beckley, WV, her brothers and their wives Conrad and Carol Cooper and Kim and Lillie Cooper, also from Beckley, WV, Melodie and Tom Martin, her sister and husband from Myrtle Beach, and numerous nieces and nephews. Yvonne was preceded in death by her father Dr. Harry Fred Cooper. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 170 North Mountain Road, Fruit Heights, Utah. Family and friends may call at the church Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM or Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Funeral Directors, Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
