Marlene Maggie Cline* - Class Of 1978

Marlene Maggie Wriston, age 48, of Bradley, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at her home following a sudden illness. Born on July 18, 1960, at Beckley, she was the daughter of Marvin Cline of Bradley and the late Catherine Rice Cline. She was a retired emergency medical dispatcher for 911 and JanCare Ambulance. She was a 1978 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Bluefield State College. She was a member of the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church and was a volunteer for the Bradley Elementary School. Marlene was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin R. “Buddy” Cline; and a grandchild, David Wriston III. Survivors include her husband, David Wriston, of 29 years; two sons, David Wriston II and fiancé, Tana Acord, of Bradley and Derek R. Wriston of Bradley; two sisters, Becky Lynn Hamro and husband, Ernest, of Princeton, and Pamela Jane Byrge of Bluefield, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Catherine B. Wriston of Mullens and Angel Browning of Bradley; mother-in-law, Agatha Wriston of Kingston, W.Va.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church at Bradley, with Pastor Wayne Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, at the church and also one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Pallbearers will be John Hitchens, Donald Church, Chris Eades, John Ashley, Bryan Hylton, Aaron Boyd, Shawn Holcomb and John Cox.
