James Wesley "Jimmy" Hatcher* - Class Of 1977

James Wesley “Jimmy” Hatcher, age 48, of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Beckley, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the home of his cousin in Siler City, N.C., following a long illness. Born in Beckley, W.Va., on Aug. 30, 1959, he was the son of Paris Hatcher Jr. of Beckley and the stepson of Joyce Hatcher of Beckley, and the son of the late Mae Rider Hatcher. Mr. Hatcher was a builder and developer in Wilmington, and was a member of the Long Leaf Baptist Church in Wilmington. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and had made his home in Wilmington for over 20 years. Other than his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Deborah Hatcher. Survivors other than his father are his daughters, Brandy Mae Hatcher and Autumn LeighAnn Hatcher of Wilmington, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Michelle Legg of Wilmington; a grandson, Tyler Legg; stepbrother, Barry Lilly of Colorado; stepsisters, Karen Regan of South Carolina, and Kimberly Sawyer of Alabama; and several cousins also survive. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. George Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kendall Talbott, Keith Talbott, Jeff Jameson, Jeffery Osborne, Ted Solari, and Rick Solari.
