Dewayne Gambrell*

Dewayne Gambrell, 48, of Crab Orchard, died Monday, April 25, 2005, at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness. Born May 15, 1956, in Pineville, Ky., he was the son of Ruby Warren Gambrell of Glen White and the late Thomas Gambrell. Mr. Gambrell was a disabled coal miner, having last worked for Southern Gold Mining. He was a minister and served as assistant pastor of Shady Spring Pentecostal Church, where he was a member. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and serving in church. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Survivors include his wife, Delores Ann Foley Gambrell; two sons, Jeremy Gambrell of Crab Orchard and Christopher Gambrell of Crab Orchard; a daughter, Andrea Gambrell of Crab Orchard; a brother, Britten Gambrell and wife, Becky, of Del Rio, Texas. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with Pastor Ernestine Martin and the Rev. Paul Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
