Cynthia Jane Korczyk* - Class Of 1976

Cynthia Jane "Cindy" Korczyk, 43, of Prince Street, Beckley, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at her home. Born June 9, 1958, in Welch, she was the daughter of Joseph R. Korczyk Jr. and Mary Cisco Korczyk of Old Mill Village, Beckley. Cindy spent her childhood on Dorcas Avenue, Beckley. She was a 1976 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a graduate of Concord College with a degree in finance and accounting. She formerly lived in Nashville, Tenn., where she worked in the health care industry in purchasing. She was a member of Beckley Regular Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joseph R. and Sophia Korczyk Sr.; and her maternal grandparents, James Harvey and Alpha Cisco. Other survivors include two brothers, Douglas Korczyk and his wife, Nancy, and Gregory Korczyk and his wife, Timmie, all of Beckley; a nephew, Joseph James; three nieces, Kori Dee Korczyk, Kacy Rae Korczyk and Kristie Michelle Korczyk; and a large extended family. Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Revs. Kevin Seager and Jason Naff officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Pallbearers will be Evan Thurman, Pete Parrish, Jeff Almond, Larry Misiti, Jim Cooper and Bob Cook. Donations of sympathy may be made to Appalachian Bible College.
