Greg Lilly* - Class Of 1979

Lewis “Greg” Lilly, age 51, of Beckley, took the stairway to Heaven on Sunday, January 6, 2013, following a short illness. Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Elizabeth Huffman Lilly; his children, Greg, Belle, and Nick; a sister Claudette Cimala of Flagstaff, Ariz.; in-laws, Tammy and Mike Wyss of Beloit, Ohio, Brenda and Garry Morris of Oak Hill, Kim and George Shaw, of Clarksburg, Melinda and Mike Bush of Lost Creek, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorma Ryder Lilly of Beckley. Greg was born on October 16, 1961, in Beckley, and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1979. He attended ACT and then went to Towson University in Baltimore, Md. He was a land developer in the Maxwell Hill area for many years before becoming an insurance agent and the owner and operator of Grace Corp. He previously owned Jam Sessions in Oak Hill and Princeton. Greg was a Chaplain and a Stephens Minister through the Church of God and he and Elizabeth are the current Children’s Pastor of Kids Power Zone at the Family Worship Center. In his youth, Greg had Power House Gym and loved to body build. He loved to race motorcycles, spend time with his family, and watch Notre Dame Football. Greg was known by many children as Dad. His heart, compassion, and love stretched out to touch everyone that he came in contact with. His infectious laugh would fill and brighten every room. Greg never knew a stranger and will be remembered for his outrageous sense of humor. A joyous Celebration of Greg’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Church of God Family Worship Center with Pastor Ken Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Friends may call at the church from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Matt Bishop, Mike Bush, Rusty Hunt, Garry Morris, Robert Hill, Billy Bailey, Joe Bush, Rick Wallington, Dave Hudnall, and Joe Nichols.
