Keith Waddell - Class Of 1979

Wilburn Keith Waddell, age 48, of Beckley, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at the St. Francis Hospital in Charleston following a short illness. Born on July 9, 1960, at Beckley, he was the son of the late Fred Waddell and Barbara Ann Thornton Waddell. Keith was a former employee of Stone and Thomas, Wal-Mart of Beckley and Charlie Earehart Dodge Inc. as a maintenance employee. Keith was a member of the Crab Orchard Gospel Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Waddell. Surviving are his daughter, Ariel Waddell of Bradley; stepdaughters, Crystal Whittaker of Piney View; brothers, Dean Waddell and wife, Brenda, of Raleigh, Ralph Tracy Waddell and wife, Terri, of Prosperity and Freddie Waddell and wife, Millie, of Beckley; sisters, Anna Bailey and husband, Billy, of Bradley and Tammy Jarrell and husband, James, of Dunbar; stepbrother, Terry Thornton of Shady Spring; two grandchildren, Logan and Austin Whittaker; and several nieces and nephews. Service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Pastor Larry Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Shady Spring Chapel. Pallbearers will be Tommy Earehart, Reed Epperly, David Hunter, Charles Redden, Ted Stump, Jr. and Michael Dean Redden. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis, Matthew, and Michael Bailey, Jimmy Jarrell and Nathan Waddell.
