Danny Joe Moore, 50, of Beckley, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in a local hospital. Born May 14, 1958, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Woodrow H. (Woody) and Jean Gardner Moore. Danny was a former assistant manager for Acme Markets in Beckley and more recently was a Team Leader at Sam’s Club Fuel Center. He was a 1976 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, a member of the United Methodist Temple and was an avid NASCAR and WVU fan. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Will-iam H. “Bill” Moore, in 2002 and by his grandmother, Peggy Gardner Adkins. Surviv-ors include daughters, Amanda Nicole Moore and Sarah Katherine Moore, both of Beckley; former wife, Sheri Gray Moore of Beckley; sister, Kathy L. Moore Pittman of Athens, Ohio; nephews, Daniel and Josh Pittman of Athens, Ohio, Quinn and Dylan Gray of Beckley, Aaron Moore of Columbus, Ohio; nieces: Katie Rose Pittman of Athens, Ohio, Kristen Moore of Columbus, Ohio, Kayla and Jordan Gray of Beckley; aunts, Helen Boersch of Lexington, Ky., and Erma Griffith of Charleston, W.Va.; and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Trish Standifur officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Doug Cox, Dwight Bellomy, Bobby Zutaut, Eddie Ballard, Josh Pittman and Daniel Pittman.
