Mrs. Mary Louise Barringer Cox, 58, of Beckley, died Saturday, June 29, 2013. Born April 10, 1955, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Mary Jane Berry Barringer. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, attended Beckley College and was employed as a secretary for City Hall, at the Sanitary Board, and Code Enforcement from May 1974 - May 2007. She was a member of New Era Baptist Church at Stanaford, W.Va., attended First Baptist Church of North Beckley, where she sang in the senior and combined choir, and worked with the Women of Vision. Those left to cherish precious memories are her loving husband, Rev. James Cox; children, James Jeffrey Cox, Naji Shaheed, Jamie Arrington, and Keisha Black; brother, Wesley Barringer; aunts, Hazel Wilson and Evelyn Younger; nephew, John Barringer, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at First Baptist Church North Beckley, 110 Ellis Street, Beckley, with Elder David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
