Gary Wayne Scott, age 61, of Crab Orchard, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 10, 2016.

Born on February 14, 1955, in Beckley, he was the son of Norma Dixon Scott of Crab Orchard and the late Leroy Scott, and was the stepson of Boyd Pendleton of Crab Orchard.

Gary was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and was an avid hunter, golfer and loved to sing.  One of his passions was working with Beckley Babe Ruth League, where he served as a President of the League, and also as a coach for several state championship teams.

Gary was a lifelong member of Stanaford Road Baptist Church. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Lee Scott, and his baby brother, Jeffrey Lynn Scott, and by his great grandson, Kaiden Wayne Scott.

In addition to his mother, Norma Scott, and step father, Boyd Pendleton, he is survived by his children, Kelly Ann Marsh and her husband, Robert, of Beckley, and Joshua Aaron Scott and his fiancé, Andrea Redden, of Beckley; a brother, Ronald Eugene Scott, of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Ashlee, Haylee, Laycee, Lilly, Olivia, Madalyn, and Isabella; two great granddaughters, Graicee and Rylee. His very special friend, Becky Saddler, of Crab Orchard, along with a host of other family members also survive.  

Gary also leaves behind his lifelong friend, Brennie Lowther, and his sons Lee, Darren, and Dustin.

Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lyell Zickafoose officiating. 

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.  

Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.   

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
