Joe Woods "Butch" Beard II, 64, of Shady Spring, passed away at RGH on Friday, November 24th, after a long illness.
He was the son of Jacqueline Danese "Jackie" (Tackett) Beard and the late Joe Woods Beard. He was born June 9th, 1953, in Beckley, WV.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Theresa Maria (Quattrone) Beard, his mother Jackie Beard, sisters Anna Jo Alexander and husband Dan, Patty Lynn Daniels, nephews James Alexander and Scott Patrick Alexander, and niece Emily Alexis Daniels.
Joe graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1971 and WVU.
He was a true lover of WV and the outdoors. His interest in the outdoors, hunting and fishing led him to his future jobs where he met Theresa. He made it to the woods for the first day of deer season, just days before he passed. He and Theresa enjoyed exploring West Virginia trails and floating and fishing the Greenbrier River.
Visitation at Melton Mortuary will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM November 27 and 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday. The funeral will be Tuesday, November 28, at 11:00 AM at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. For more about Joe's life, visit www.Meltonmortuary.com
