Sharion Elizabeth Smith, 55, of 219 Mills Ave., Beckley, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at University Hospital of Charlottesville, Va., following a long illness. Sharion was born Dec. 24, 1956, in Beckley, to the late Wayne and Melverine Sykes Heath. Sharion graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and taught pre-school in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Melverine Heath; a sister, Arletha Turner. She is survived by her husband, Khalid Smith of Beckley; a daughter, Kesha Smith of Beckley; a grandson, Gabriel Smith of Beckley; two brothers, George Skyes and Wayne Heath Jr. of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Eldora (David) Shelton of Beckley and Cynthia Rush of Akron, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 142 Mool St., Beckley, with the Rev. Nelson Staples III officiating.
