E. Deion Baker*

E. Deion Baker, 45, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001. Minister Baker was the daughter of Doris O. Smith of 701 Scott Ave., Beckley, and the late Willis R. Smith. She was baptized in Welcome Church at the age of six and was an usher. Deion graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Lourdes College and the University of Toledo, where she studied philosophy and bible. She was a licensed ordained minister of Body of Christ Church, Toledo, Ohio. She was a staff development manager for Buckeye Cable Systems, Toledo. She was preceded in death by a son, Marcus A. Baker. Other survivors include her husband, Gerald; two daughters, Leslie Reddish and her husband, Jarvis, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Kimberely at home; two brothers, Reggie Smith and his wife, Renee, of Beckley and Keith Smith and his wife, Remelle, of College Park, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
