Michael Stephen Shrewsbury* - Class Of 1970

Michael Stephen Shrewsbury, 49, of MacArthur, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 19, 2001, in a Beckley hospital. Born Aug. 13, 1951, in Princeton, he was the son of Ordie A. Shrewsbury and Helen Sue Nichols Shrewsbury of MacArthur. Mr. Shrewsbury spent his childhood in MacArthur and was a 1970 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He attended Beckley College and Morris Harvey College in Charleston. He was of the Baptist faith and owner of Computer Wiz and Exotic Fish. He also worked 13 years on the CSX railway. Other survivors include two sons, Eric and Ryan Shrewsbury of MacArthur; a daughter, Tonya Kay and her husband, Joe, of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Frederick Wayne of MacArthur; two aunts; three uncles; and several cousins. Service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Harmon Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 2 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bill Austin, Joe Kay, Jack Bishop, Mike Isom, Brandon Kiblinger
