James Victor Leeber*

James Victor Leeber, 52, of Johnstown Road, Beckley, and Prosperity, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2001, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born Nov. 7, 1949, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Fury Fred Leeber and Mamie Cagnina Leeber Craft. Mr. Leeber spent his childhood in Beckley and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He also graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master's Degree in English education. He was a former English teacher at Fairmont High School and Park Junior High School in Beckley. In 1999 he founded CompuClass Inc. on Johnstown Road. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He was also preceded in death by his aunt who raised him, Elizabeth "Aunt Liz" Little, and her husband, Emerson; Mary Louise Leeber, an aunt who made her home with Mr. Leeber; and his stepfather, Richard Craft. Survivors include his companion, Tony McKinney; a sister, Kathleen Gianfrisco of Holbrook, N.Y.; two brothers, Fred Leeber and his wife, Jeannie, of Medford, N.J., and Anthony Leeber and his wife, Gina, of Fort Myers, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. Funeral liturgy will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Beckley, with Father Samuel Sacus as celebrant. Rite of committal will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery of the Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Melton Mortuary, Beckley. Pallbearers will be Tony McKinney, Fred Leeber, Anthony Leeber, Darl Poling, Gary Rumberg and Dennis Zaferatos. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Gary Poling.
